Using video clips in class is a great way to show real world examples of people and places that students may rarely have the chance to experience. However, there is a lot more to using videos in class than just finding a YouTube video every now and then; in fact learning authentic language with video can be an exciting curriculum itself.

Finding authentic content is easy, but not always appropriate! And we do not want to limit ourselves to types of videos in class – cartoons, dramas and real-life video diaries are just some examples of great ELT content. The big question is how to get the most out of your videos – and this webinar provides an excellent way to find a little inspiration.

Grammar is an integral part of the foreign language learning process. But it often seems that it takes forever for our learners to produce what they have been taught!

In this session, we will firstly look at how to teach grammar in a natural way, and how we can help students correct their errors efficiently and positively. Secondly, we will discuss a range of best-practice strategies that will help learners remember grammar structures more effectively and gradually help them to get their language right more often. We will also discuss briefly the role of the learner’s own language in this process.

Herbert Puchta

Dr. Herbert Puchta ist hauptberuflich als Autor und Teacher Trainer tätig. Er war bereits auf zahlreichen internationalen Konferenzen als Plenarvortragender zu Gast und hielt bereits in über 30 Ländern Workshops und Seminare. Seit fast drei Jahrzehnten befasst er sich mit kognitiver Psychologie und wie ihre Erkenntnisse im Fremdsprachenunterricht umgesetzt werden können.

Der Bestsellerautor hat außerdem zahlreiche Artikel und Nachschlagewerke für Lehrende verfasst. Bis vor kurzem war Herbert Puchta Präsident der IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language).

Christopher Jory

Chris Jory ist seit über 30 Jahren im Bereich English Language Teaching tätig. Als Lehrer, Teacher Trainer und Studienleiter unterrichtete er bereits an Schulen in Italien, Spanien, Brasilien, Venezuela, Griechenland und Großbritannien. In den vergangenen 20 Jahren arbeitete er zudem für Oxford und Cambridge University Press im Bereich der Lehrmittelerstellung.

Als erfolgreicher Autor, Herausgeber und Schriftsteller lebt Christopher Jory heute in Italien.
